Carolyn
Johnson
Chair
Carolyn moved to Reading in 1999 and has been an active community volunteer since then. She has served on PTO boards, PAIR (Partners and Allies for an Inclusive Reading), and the Climate Advisory Committee, and has helped coordinate community events such as the annual Menorah lighting, the MLK district-wide art project, and the Pride Parade.
Carolyn spent 3 years as a co-coordinator for the Reading Food Pantry’s volunteer delivery program, and she continues to help deliver food to Reading neighbors whenever she can. Currently Carolyn volunteers at Uncommon Threads in Lawrence, helping low-income women through the power of clothes. She also serves as a Town Meeting Representative for Precinct 2.
Treasurer
John serves as treasurer and has lived in Reading for 40 years. He was an elected Town Meeting Member for 35 years and has worked on numerous campaigns for local candidates. He is a member of the Reading Democratic Town Committee and is also on the Leadership Team of Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts, which promotes progressive policies and candidates in Massachusetts.
John serves on the Board of Smart from the Start, a Boston non-profit supporting economically challenged families with children under school age to empower parents and ensure school readiness for their children. He blogs at Policy for the People on national policy and politics, focusing on economic inequality, excessive corporate power, the corrupt nature of campaign financing, and the state of our democracy.

GOTV Coordinator
Laura has lived and volunteered in Reading for twenty years. She volunteers as a lead teacher for Understanding Disabilities and with Partners and Allies for Inclusive Reading (PAIR). Additionally, Laura leads Reading’s POP Huddle, organizes Reading’s Pride Parade, and serves on Town Meeting representing Precinct 2.

Erick volunteers as a Scoutmaster for Troop 702 and with the Reading Memorial High School Marching Band Parents Organization, as well as participating in town events such as the Fall Street Faire.
