Mission

Together for Reading is a local, non-profit, political action committee (PAC) run by Reading residents. We focus on local issues, support local candidates, and enable community members from diverse backgrounds to contribute to our town.

Together for Reading supports candidates who champion issues like:

Fiscal responsibility

  • Advancing local financial policies benefiting residents

  • Seeking State and Federal grant money to improve Reading

  • Smart investments for long-term planning and development

Resilient infrastructure for Reading

  • Road maintenance and repairs

  • Green energy installation

  • Hazard and weather mitigation

Improved downtown

  • Maintaining public green space

  • Improving walkability

  • Supporting local businesses through town events and small business grants

Inclusive and welcoming Reading

  • Supporting local events like the Pride Parade and the Juneteenth celebration, along with organizations such as CATO and POP Huddle

  • Fostering community-building events, like the Fall Street Faire, Friends and Family Day, beer gardens, Porchfest, and craft fairs

Affordable Reading

  • Fair tax rate between residents and businesses

  • Smart zoning to support more affordable housing and rents

  • Advocating for senior citizens' programs to aid aging in place
